Project Overview

Avora is a self-initiated concept for a mountain travel website, designed by itcroc LLC for portfolio presentation. It presents guided climbing expeditions to travelers who want expert guides and clear planning before they book. The homepage opens on a full-bleed snowfield photograph with the headline Your Next Great Ascent Starts Here, a video card and a booking bar. Below, it explains why to climb with the team, lists four expedition packages with price, length and group size, shows a destination photo mosaic and closes on climber stories in a dark section. A lime accent against sky blue photography and a charcoal story section carry the brand.

The Challenge

Adventure travel sells on emotion, but a buyer still needs facts before paying thousands of dollars. The page has to show scale and risk honestly through real looking photography, reassure the visitor about guides and safety, and keep the path to a booking short. This design exploration asked how one homepage could move from a dramatic hero to a price, a trip length and a group size without losing the mood, and how the logo mark could work as a visual device rather than only a corner badge.

Project Goals

  1. Open on a full-bleed hero photograph with a two weight headline and one lime call to action.
  2. Place a booking bar for date, type and guests directly under the hero, so planning starts on the first screen.
  3. Back the promise of expert guidance with three short cards, Expert Guidance, Epic Destinations and Safety and Support, and two figures, 1800+ happy travelers and 15 years of experience.
  4. Give each expedition card the same facts in the same order, name, short description, starting price, days and climbers.
  5. Show destinations as a mixed size photo mosaic that carries one Book Now card.
  6. Close with climber stories in a dark section where the logo shape masks a photograph.

The Solution

The hero places the headline over a snowfield photograph, with a Plan Your Next Climb video card on the right and a frosted booking bar for Date, Type and Guests at the bottom. A pill navigation bar carries Home, Package, Destination and About us, beside a white Contact Us button.

A reassurance section
Why climb with us sets a large uppercase statement on a light grey ground, with the figures 1800+ and 15, a team member named Cameron Lewis and three white cards for guidance, destinations and safety.

Packages with one anatomy
Patagonia Wild Expedition from $2,899, Himalayan Summit Quest from $3,899, Dolomites Adventure from $1,799 and Swiss Alpine Expedition from $2,499 share one card. Each has a landscape photograph with a lone figure, a title, a price, a short description and two chips.

A dark story section
The closing section uses a charcoal ground, the A shaped logo as a mask over a mountain photograph, lime marqueelines and a 4.9 out of 5 rating badge.

Type and color
Headlines mix light and bold weights in an uppercase neo-grotesque consistent with Inter. The palette uses soft lime near #EEFF7C for buttons, a light grey ground near #EBECF0, white cards, charcoal near #1F262B and the sky blues of the photography.
