Brand identity and campaign photography for a mocktail range

RIVA needed a non-alcoholic mocktail identity whose own labels stay consistent, since two bottles name real spirits the brand itself calls alcohol-free.

Name

RIVA - non-alcoholic mocktail brand

Project Overview

RIVA is a non-alcoholic mocktail range sold in 750 ml bottles, 355 ml cans, and 250 ml ready-to-drink bottles, positioned as an Amalfi Coast lifestyle product rather than a supermarket soft drink. Every application, packaging, out of home, social, and a printed brand board, is shot in the same golden hour light against stone, citrus, and coastline. itcroc built the RIVA wordmark, the cream and deep green label system, and the campaign photography that carries the brand from a bottle shot to a billboard.

The Challenge

A non-alcoholic drink has to look and read as premium as the spirit it is replacing, without ever letting a buyer mistake it for the real thing, and RIVA’s own packaging blurs exactly that line. The 250 ml Ready to Drink bottle is labeled Non-Alcoholic directly above its own product name, Yuzu, Mango and Tequila, and a companion recipe card names Spicy Vodka Lime Soda as a flavor. Naming a real spirit inside a product that states Non-Alcoholic on the same label is a labeling contradiction before it is a design problem, and it sits on the exact packaging a retail buyer would pick up first

Project Goals

  • Resolve Tequila and Vodka appearing in product names directly beside the Non-Alcoholic claim, since a label cannot state both without a buyer reasonably questioning which one is true.
  • Standardize Bright Flavors to one spelling across every application, since the bottle range runs the US spelling and two recipe cards run the UK spelling, Flavours, for the identical line.
  • Choose one tagline as the label’s primary line, since Good Company Goes Further, Italian Soul in Every Sip, Bright Flavors Bolder Days, and Sip a Brighter Tomorrow currently appear across different cards with no stated hierarchy.
  • Keep the golden hour, stone, and citrus shot grammar identical across packaging, out of home, and social, since that consistency is what makes a can, a bottle, and a billboard read as one campaign.
  • Remove the stray photo credit visible in one supplied campaign shot before any file goes to print or web, since a watermark inside final artwork reads as an unfinished asset.

The Solution

A wordmark with one drawn flourish
RIVA is set in a serif with a single hand drawn swash curling beneath the V, the one non-standard detail that keeps the mark from reading as a default typeface. It holds up small on a can and large on a circular badge lockup without redrawing.

One neck tag line, one label line
Every bottle carries two separate messages in two fixed positions: Good Company Goes Further printed vertically on the neck tag, and Bright Flavors Bolder Days set horizontally on the front label. The split gives the bottle two moments to make a claim instead of crowding one.

Citrus illustration as the flavor signal
A hand painted citrus half, blood orange, grapefruit, yuzu, sits on every label in the same size and position, so a shopper reads the flavor from the fruit illustration before reading the flavor name in text.

Golden hour as the only lighting condition
Every supplied photograph, bottle, can, billboard, and flat lay, is shot in warm, low, late-day light against stone, citrus, and coastline. No studio white background appears anywhere in the campaign material, which is what makes the range read as a place, not a product.
