Alden, Copenhagen-based skincare brand
Skincare shoppers, particularly those exploring products for sensitive or reactive skin, often need more information before making a purchase decision. Ingredient details, product suitability, and routine compatibility can be just as important as packaging and visual appeal.
The design challenge behind ALDEN was to organize this information without creating an overly technical or content-heavy shopping experience.
The concept explores how an ecommerce homepage can introduce multiple skincare formulas, explain a simple routine, and communicate ingredient transparency while keeping products easy to discover.
Another important consideration was separating educational content from promotional messaging, allowing visitors to explore product details without losing sight of the primary shopping journey.
A Refined Skincare Ecommerce Experience
We designed ALDEN around a minimalist visual approach that allows skincare products and educational content to share the spotlight. The interface uses a structured layout, clear typography, and carefully organized sections to create a cohesive shopping experience.
The overall design direction emphasizes simplicity and readability while maintaining the polished presentation expected from a contemporary skincare brand.
A Routine-Led Product Journey
Instead of introducing individual products without context, the homepage presents a three-step skincare routine built around cleansing, treating, and protecting the skin.
This approach helps visitors understand how different product categories relate to one another before exploring individual formulas.
Simplified Product Discovery
Four skincare formulas are presented within a consistent product grid featuring category filters and visible pricing.
The cleanse, treat, and protect categories create a clear browsing structure, while consistent product cards make it easier to distinguish between formulas without introducing unnecessary visual complexity.
Ingredient Transparency Through Design
A dedicated ingredient section separates formulation information from the main product collection.
The layout combines a visual comparison with a two-column presentation of included ingredients and formulation exclusions. A contrasting background gives this educational content its own visual identity while maintaining consistency with the wider website.
Structured Credibility Content
The concept also explores how dermatologist profiles and research-related information could be presented within a skincare ecommerce experience.
Portraits, supporting descriptions, and illustrative research statistics are organized into dedicated sections. These elements demonstrate a potential content presentation approach and do not represent independently verified clinical evidence or endorsements.
A Consistent Shopping Experience
Throughout the design, product information, educational content, and shopping-related actions follow a logical sequence.
The result is a conceptual ecommerce interface that brings together skincare education, product discovery, and a refined visual identity without making the browsing experience unnecessarily complicated.
