Pawiy, pet adoption and pet-finder app

[ 01 - OVERVIEW ]

Overview

Project Overview

Pawiy is a pet adoption app that lets someone browse nearby cats, dogs, birds, and rabbits, then view a full profile before adopting or messaging the owner. Adoption is an emotional, trust-dependent decision, so a prospective adopter needs a pet’s basic facts, its name, breed, distance, to hold steady from first sight on the home feed to the full profile. itcroc designed onboarding, home, and detail screens around category browsing, attribute chips, and an owner contact card, so a single pet reads as one consistent, trustworthy listing rather than several conflicting ones.

[ 02 - PROBLEM ]

Problem

The Challenge

The supplied screens show the same dog under three different facts in two screens. On the
home feed he is Charlie, a German Shepherd, 2.5 kilometers away. On his own detail screen, the header reads Chariles, a misspelling, the distance reads 1.4 kilometers, and the About section names him a Golden Retriever, a different breed. For an adoption listing, where the facts shown are what a person is actually committing to, this reads as an unverified listing, the worst kind of doubt an adoption platform can raise. Onboarding also carries a misplaced apostrophe in Lets’ Go and a stray character at the end of its subheading.

[ 03 - DERECTION ]

Direction

Project Goals

• Reconcile Charlie’s name, breed, and distance across the home feed and his own detail
screen, since a pet listing with contradicting facts about the same animal is a serious trust
problem, not a minor inconsistency.
• Fix Chariles back to Charlie on the detail screen header, and settle German Shepherd or
Golden Retriever as the one correct breed, stated the same way in the header area and the
About bio.
• Correct Lets’ Go to Let’s Go and remove the stray character at the end of the onboarding
subheading, since onboarding is the first thing a new user reads.
• Fix 2 Years olds to 2 Years old and High Protien to High Protein on the pet detail screen.
• Keep the playful, costumed pet photography and pastel category cards, since that tone is a
real strength and is not connected to the accuracy problem.

The Solution

One pet, one set of facts, everywhere it appears
A pet’s name, breed, and distance are meant to be pulled from a single record and shown
identically on the home feed card and the detail screen, so Charlie reads as the same dog with
the same facts no matter where in the app a user encounters him.

Attribute chips instead of a paragraph to parse
Age, sex, and size sit as three separate icon-labeled chips at the top of the detail screen, so a
prospective adopter confirms the basics in a glance before reading the longer About section
underneath.

Health and diet stated as flags, not buried in text
Vaccinated and High Protein sit as their own colored badges near the top of the profile, giving a health-conscious adopter two checkable facts without needing to read the full bio to find them.

A named owner and a direct message path
Cameron Miles appears as Dog Owner with a photo and a chat icon directly above Adopt Now, so a prospective adopter can ask a real person a question before committing rather than adopting from an anonymous listing.
