[ 01 - OVERVIEW ]

Overview

Project Overview

The Oaks Golf Club is a private membership club selling access to an 18-hole championship course and a surrounding lifestyle, refined dining, curated events, an exclusive community, through an editorial website built for prospective members rather than golfers comparing tee times. The homepage opens on an oversized golf ball on a tee set against a fairway photograph, then moves through bracketed, numbered sections, [02] What Defines the Club, [03] The Course, that read like chapters in a printed brochure. itcroc LLC designed the hero composition, the numbered section system, and the two-tone lime-and-teal accent that carries every call to action.

[ 02 - PROBLEM ]

Problem

The Challenge

A membership site sells belonging before it sells golf, and the supplied homepage undercuts that in one visible spot: the stat line reads 15K Active Member, missing the plural on a number meant to signal scale and community. The club’s visual system also has to hold two registers at once, a loose, hand-drawn crest mark in the header logo, and an otherwise disciplined serif-and-editorial layout with numbered sections and an isometric course illustration, without the casual mark undercutting the refined tone the rest of the page works to establish.

Direction

Project Goals

  • Fix “15K Active Member” to “15K Active Members,” since a stat meant to signal scale reads as a typo instead.
  • Reconcile the hand-drawn crest mark in the header with the refined serif-and-editorial system used everywhere else on the page, so the logo doesn’t read as a placeholder against the rest of the brand.
  • Keep the bracketed, numbered section labels, [02], [03], since that device is what makes the page read like a printed club brochure instead of a generic template.
  • Preserve the two-tone lime-and-teal button treatment on every primary CTA, Explore the Club, Apply for Membership, so the accent stays a deliberate signature rather than a default green.
  • Hold the golf-ball-as-hero-object motif and the isometric course map as the site’s two anchor visuals, since together they carry the “world-class course” claim without needing more photography.

The Solution

A single object carries the hero

An oversized golf ball on a tee, shot against real fairway photography, replaces a wide establishing shot or a course montage, so the first impression is precision and craft rather than scenery.

Bracketed numbers as a chapter system
[02] What Defines the Club and [03] The Course label each section like a printed brochure’s table of contents, giving a long, content-heavy page a sense of structure a prospective member can navigate by feel.

An isometric course map instead of a photo tour
The 18-hole layout is illustrated from above with the signature hole called out and paired with a 7,200- plus-yard stat, giving a golfer real course information a photo carousel couldn’t communicate as clearly.

Two accent colors doing two different jobs
Lime marks every clickable action, while a darker teal fills the inner button shape and highlights the one selected course-hole card, so the palette separates click here from you are here without adding a thirdcolor.
